Ms. Carla Sherai Crane

Beloved mother, daughter, sister, Carla Sherai Crane, affectionally called "Pep", 57, of Prince George, Virginia, received her heavenly reward on August 3, 2022 in Prince George, VA. Carla was born in Fort Valley, Georgia to Johnny and Martha Anderson, on August 18th, 1964. The family moved to Syracuse, New York in 1968 where Carla completed her education, graduating from Thomas J. Corcoran High School, Syracuse, NY in 1982. In the years to follow, she completed several college programs in the Health and Medical field, most recently graduating from Ashworth College in 2021 with a Certication in Billing and Coding. Carla, at the age of 18, married David Crane. As a young military couple, they traveled and had two daughters together. Even though they parted ways, they remained friends. In 1999, Carla followed her career and relocated to the Fort Lee, Virginia Commissary. In 2007, she began her employment with UPS as Supervisor, where she remained for 5 years. She returned to the Commissary in 2012 and in 2021, followed her career once again to Hunter Holmes Mcguire VA Medical Center, Richmond, VA. Carla had a passion for decorating and spending time with family. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Prince George, VA, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board, Safety and Security Committee, Dance Ministry, Women's Ministry, Youth Advisor, and the Gospel and Combined Choirs. Carla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sarah Oates and RJ Oats; paternal grandfather, John Lee Anderson; and nephew, Trevon Anderson. Carla is survived by her parents, Johnny and Martha Anderson of Hopewell, VA; her children, Tahisha Peterson (Jarrelle) of Virginia and Kshatriya Crane of California; her paternal grandmother (who she was anticipating celebrating her 100th birthday next month), Mel Green; siblings, Terrence Anderson (Marva) of Douglasville, Georgia, Johnny Anderson III (Jennifer) of Chester, Virginia, and Michael Anderson of Chesterfield, Virginia; three grandchildren, Ayani, Inaya, and Amir Peterson. Carla also leaves to cherish her memories nine nieces and nephews, Trinisa Anderson, Terrence Anderson, Jr., Dashawn Anderson, Anthony Anderson, Shaquoya Johnson, Tyra Anderson, Mykel Anderson, Sanara Anderson, and Jalen Anderson; along with thirteen great nieces and nephews, a host of aunts, uncles, and close cousins that were like brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 4405 Prince George Dr, Prince George, VA on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., with Reverend F. Lamont Gooding, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 6101 Courthouse Rd., Prince George, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Friday, August 12, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Tucker & Fisher Funeral Home, Petersburg, VA.
