Mr Barymore Everton Ward

Barymore "Barry" Everton Ward, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 58. Born on July 16, 1966, in Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. He was the cherished son of the late Alton and Shirley Ward, and he carried their legacy with pride, grace, and a deep sense of family throughout his life. Barry was a man of many talents. As a young man, he excelled in sports, particularly baseball, basketball, and boxing, often standing out for his strength, natural athleticism, and competitive drive. Beyond athletics, he was a great cook and highly skilled with his hands, particularly in building and repairing machinery. He worked professionally as an HVAC technician. Growing up, he loved collecting records and had a deep passion for music-especially old-time rockers reggae. He would often reflect and share in laughter with loved ones over cherished memories. Barry had a natural sense of humor, a charismatic personality, and an adventurous spirit. He loved to travel and explore, never hesitating to venture out on his own. That same courage led him to settle in Virginia at a young age. Though a soft-spoken man and kindhearted, Barry was always fiercely protective of those he loved- a true warrior at heart. He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, humor, and the deep love he gave to everyone blessed to be part of his life. Barry leaves behind his lasting legacy in his children: Kisshyla Cetoute, Barrymore Ward (Junior), Kisshyla Ward-McKoy, Khaleed Ward-McKoy, and Azariah Hunter. Precious grandbabies: Jules, Lilan, Kalanii, Olivia, Kennedi, Gianna, Aubree, Khaleed Jr., Khaliyah, and other cherished ones. He also had three adopted daughters, whom he affectionately called Hootie, Queenie, and Ebony. He is also survived by his siblings: Ira Ward, Aron Ward, Michael Ward, Carol Felix, Florette Ward-Eugene, Abigale Ward-George, Ursula Ward, and Marilyn O'Brien. He was preceded in death by his sisters Juveen Ward, Stephanie Ward, and Philmoore Ward, who passed away in infancy. May their souls be lovingly reunited in peace. His nieces and nephews carry his memory with affection. Nephews: Keano Eugene, Kyle Eugene, Alexie Felix, Jose Felix, Baltazar Felix III, Israel Felix, Iroy Ward, Shamarie Ward. Nieces: Riley Star, Carmen Felix, Angela Felix, Sheniqua Robinson, Shequilla Robinson, Cheyenne George, Zerikia Ward, Olivia Jusme, Shaquilla Thibou. He is also reunited in peace with his late nephew, Odin Lloyd. Barry's legacy is one of resilience, warmth, humor, and unwavering love for family. His fearless spirit, his laughter, and his love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Details regarding the memorial service and celebration of life, as we return him to his beloved island of St. Croix, will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
