Mr. Cecil Rae Reynolds

St John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and there ye go I will be also. On March 12, 2012, the Lord called Deacon Cecil Rae Reynolds home to his final rest. On August 17, 1926, Deacon Cecil Reynolds (85) was born and raised in Bertie County North Carolina to the late Preston and Bettie Holly Reynolds. After his mother was called home to be with the Lord, his stepmother Clara Reynolds raised Cecil. In 1954 Deacon Cecil Reynolds moved to Newport News, VA and married Alice V. Horton Reynolds and from this union were born five children; Sandra, Cecil, Tina Reynolds, all of Newport News, Alice D. Reynolds Womack (Allen) of Hampton, Andre Reynolds (Lucinda) of Winston Salem, and an eldest son; Walter Reynolds of Wenton, NC. Cecil also raised and loved his granddaughter Latrina Reynolds Butler (Michael). Deacon Cecil Reynolds received the lord as a young man. In 1956, Deacon Reynolds joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend T.L.S. Thomas. In 1987, Deacon Reynolds retired from the Newport News City Water Works. Deacon Reynolds was active in church; he was on the Deacon Board Sr. Usher board, as well as a member of the C.D. Chorus and the church janitor as well. His loving parents; Mr. Preston Reynolds, Betty Reynolds, and Clara Reynolds precede Cecil in death. Deacon Cecil is also preceded in death by his son; Cecil Reynolds, Jr., sister; Tiny Ruffin, brothers; Joe and Tommy Reynolds, and in laws; Eager Horton, Bob Rainey, John Horton, and Ellamae Delotch. Cecil leaves to cherish his memories, his wife; Alice Reynolds, children; Sandra, Tina, Alice, Andre, Walter Reynolds, grandchildren; Latrina, Lamont, Darail, Michael Page, Cocoa, T’angela, Trenessa, Donyetta, Tasha, and Kimberly. He is also survived by his in laws; Shirley Chester, Frances Horton, Rosa Roane, William Horton (Zamora), Mack Horton (Marsel), Barbara Smith (Glenn), and Ben Horton (Barbara). A Viewing will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 from noon until 5pm. Services will he held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 1 pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
