Mr. George H. Branch, Jr.

Mr. George H. Branch, Jr., 76, of Chesterfield, VA, known to many as Jimmy, entered into the Master's arms on February 20, 2022 at his residence. He was born December 5, 1945 to the late George H. Branch, Sr. and Gertha Couch Branch. Jimmy was educated in the Chesterfield County Public Schools. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Grove Baptist Church, Chesterfield, VA, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William E. Johnson, III, where he was an active member until the time of his death. Jimmy was an entrepreneur who started his own business, GB Construction. He did construction work through out the Tri-Cities area. He loved traveling, eating good food (especially his sweets), fishing, playing cards with the fellows and planting his garden to have vegetables to share with the community. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Clanton Branch, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He leaves to cherish his most precious memories, two daughters, Pamela Wilson Sample and Diane Jackson (Rodney); two devoted sons, George H. Branch, III (Monica) and Brian K. Branch(BB) (Tracy); seventeen grandchildren, Antywone Wilson, Maurice Branch Scott, Karl Wilson, Brittany Branch, Brandon Wilson, Tamika Giles, Yvonne Perry, Jamazio Perry, Pam Branch, Dylan Branch, Madison Branch, Carter Branch, Brian Drew, Darius Warren, Antoine Perry, Kiunta Perry and Azontay Perry; thirty great- grandchildren; two sisters, Candis Watkins (Harry) and Juanita Branch (Glenn); three brothers, Juel R. Branch, Sr., William H. Branch, Sr. and Bruce H. Branch; aunt, Mabel Johnson; uncle, Garfield Lee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, (devoted) Loretha Baugh (Gerald) who was raised as his sister and Russell Harris (Rosetta) who was raised as his brother, Leroy Gill, Tim and Becky Banks, Ray and Gracy Robinson, Wayne Harris, Willie and Lucy Walker, Mozelle Mason and Silas Dodson, along with other relatives and friends, too numerous to name. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Zion Apostolic Christian Memorial Temple, 1601 Youngs Road, Petersburg, VA with Suffragen Bishop Samuel E. Wright, Jr., officiating and Dr. Suzie Wright, eulogizing. Interment will follow in the Branch Family Cemetery South Chesterfield, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Friday, March 4, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M.
