In Loving Memory of Mr. Leroy L. Edmonds Jr. (Fondly known as Butch) (1946 - 2024) Mr. Leroy L. Edmonds Jr., affectionately known as Butch, gracefully gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by love in Newport News, VA. Born to Elizabeth Spencer and Leroy L. Edmonds Sr., Butch was a cherished lifetime resident of Newport News whose infectious smile and unwavering love for his community endeared him to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elizabeth Spencer, and his father Leroy L. Edmonds Sr., his cherished sons Anthony Armstead, and Igod (Khaliyl) Allah, his dear brother Curtis Spencer, and nephews Andre Edmonds and Clarence Edmonds. Butch is survived by his devoted sister Bertha Edmonds, his caring brother Bobby Edmonds, his loving daughters Judy Edmonds (Evelyn), Tanya Parker, Vanessa Clark (Morris), and sons Leroy L. Jackson (Demetria) and Donovan Robinson. Butch leaves behind a legacy of love through his nine adoring grandchildren, Taneka, Quaina, Tanya, Tony, Ikar, Octavia, Mercedez, Reality, and Azzure, as well as his nineteen cherished great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a special nephew, Will Armstead, a longtime friend, Helen, and a multitude of nieces and nephews, all of whom were deeply touched by his presence in their lives. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Waterview Health & Rehab Center and the Riverside Hospice Staff, with a special acknowledgment to Nicole. Their unwavering support and care provided comfort and solace during Butch's journey and brought immense peace to the family during this difficult time. Butch's memory will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will continue to inspire generations to come. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was deeply cherished and will be profoundly missed.
