Mrs. Mary G. Jones

Mrs. Mary G. Jones, transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Bon Secours - Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. Affectionately known as, "Grandma Mary" lived at 1700 Johnson Rd., Petersburg, Virginia. She was born February 16, 1942 to the late Golden Grandison and Monroe Harris of Petersburg, VA. She was member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God in Christ, Petersburg, VA, under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey L. Dodson, Sr., where she was a faithful member all of her life until her health started to decline. Grandma Mary was a loving mother figure to many young men. She was a giver, a provider and a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren, but most of all she was Mom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Jones; sister, Barbara Grandison; daughter, Angela Grandison; two grandsons, Tony and Quintin Grandison. Grandma Mary leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Marion Harris (Michelle) and Daniel Harris (Christine) of Petersburg; brother, Nathaniel Rouse of Petersburg; twelve grandchildren, Milton Grandison, Tiffany Jones, Tempestt Jones, Melissa Harris, Morgan Harris, Kerdijah Tucker, Marion Harris, III, Tyleke Perry, Bryant Cunningham, Shawndra Reid, Vashaun Hill and Mekhi Hill all of Petersburg; eight great-grandchildren, Kassidy Lee, Nevaeh Grandison, Ashton Jones, Talijah Mayfield, Kemile Grandison, Kamora Grandison, Milton Grandison Jr. and Damon Smith; daughters by another mother, LaShawn Carlos and Pamela Jones; special friend, Faheemah "Umi" Muhammad; two nieces, Golden and Nattie Grandison of New York; three nephews, James Taylor, Wilbert Taylor and Joseph Finney; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Gordon and Darlene Cornish of Richmond; brother-in-law, Frank Sims; sons from HTP (Hill Top Posse), Herbert Williams, Albert Ferby, Will Phelps, Stuart Jefferson, Maurice Taylor, Jeffery Clarke, Samuel Harris, Keith Hooper, Eric Walker, Andrew Scott, Cameron Clayton, Marcello Walker, Rick McGoogan, Steve Dennis, Wayne Jackson, Kenneth Harris, William House, Antoine Williams, Mark Robinson, Gregory Ferby, William Wilkins, William Parham and Reginald Brown. A Celebration Life will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Tucker & Fisher Celebration of Life Chapel, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA at 1:00 P.M. Minister Michael Jones will officiate. Final resting place will be Mt. Minnis Memorial Park, South Chesterfield, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Monday, November 15, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
