Mr. Roque Santos Cruz

After 66 years, Roque Santos Cruz, a loving son, a passionate brother, an ever-giving father and one of the greatest grandfathers, has started his journey from this earth to meet our maker on October 18th, 2021, during his stay at John Randolph Hospital. Roque was a native of Guam and his father and mother, Joaquin and Dolores Santos Cruz gave birth to him on September 19, 1955. He graduated from George Washington Senior High School in 1973. Making a life in the military, he worked hard and overcame obstacles that lead him to achieve multiple awards that consist of but not limited to: Medals: Bronze and Silver OLC, Good Conduct, National Defense Service, Humanitarian Service, Valorous Unit Awards. Ribbons: Professional Development, Army Service, and Overseas Service with number 4 in block 18. He then retired and received an honorable discharge in September 1993. A vision of hope and the will to bring justice, Roque then joined the Police Force and became a decorated Police Officer for the Government of Guam. While serving the country internationally and domestically, Roque has shown great love to his children and even more to his grandchildren. Each moment he was near them, Roque would have the look of truly being loved by all those around him. Roque loved to fish, but he loved to eat what he caught more. He was a foodie throughout his life until the second he went on to start his final journey. In his new life, Roque will be greeted at the gates of heaven by his parents, Joaquin and Dolores Santos Cruz; sisters, Lourdes Cruz, Dionesia Cruz, Rosita Cruz and Doris Calip; brother, Vincente Cruz and sister-in-law, Patricia Uson Cruz. Roque's love and memories will be forever cherished and remembered in the hearts of his ex-wife, Myong Lee, with their two sons and spouses and his grandchildren, David and Grace (Everly & Bellamy) and Daniel and Anh (Emilynn, Jasmine, and Jacob); his wife, Chisuki Cruz with their son and daughter and his grandchildren, Joshua H. Do (Yuri J. Valerio) and Adeline Marie Cruz (Chicka and Shogun); siblings/in-laws, Julia and Mercer Taylor, Terisita and Edward Camacho, Rose and Robert Laanan, Rosalina and Perpetua DeJesus and Kenneth Cruz and best friends, Jesse Castro and Jimmy Pangelinan. Roque will be also missed by numerous friends and relatives. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2 PM (Eastern Time) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4181 Prince George Dr., Prince George, VA with Bishop Fairies officiating. Visitation will be held at the church at 1 PM.
