Mr. Roy Savalas Jones

Roy Savalas Jones was born November 18, 1976 in Richmond, VA to Robert and Mary Jones. He passed away peacefully from this life on Thursday, September 24, 2020. Roy was educated in the Chesterfield County Public School System. His admonition was not to pursue dreams of college, but to extend his natural talent of hard work and determination to enjoy life. Roy was a Jack of all trades. He enjoyed mechanics and traveling the East and West Coast with J L Express Trucking Company, Chester, VA. Roy had a zest for life that left an indelible mark on his family and friends to last a lifetime. One of his fondest memories was his childhood visits to North Carolina and singing with the family choir. Roy loved his family. Family was his life. Roy was preceded in death in death by his grandfather, Thomas Camp and great grandparents, Rev. L.C. and Lena Camp. He leaves to cherish fond and precious memories his parents, Robert and Mary Jones of Richmond, VA; four sons, Royjoun Baskerville, Deonte Savalas Thomas, Nyshawn Rudd all of Richmond, VA and Jacore Roysaun Jones of Farmville, VA; loving grandmothers, Lottie Camp of Charlotte, NC, Jannie Jones of Buckingham, VA and Ella Watson of Shelby, NC; ; three brothers, Anthony Jones of Richmond, VA, Robert Lamont Jefferson of Pittsville, MA and Nicolas Camp of Charlotte, NC.; one sister, Latonya Rochelle Camp of Richmond, VA; ten uncles, Jason Camp, Anthony Camp, Michael Camp all of Charlotte, NC, Paul Jones, Willie Jones, Calvin Jones and Curtis Jones all of Richmond, VA, Charles Watson, Ray Watson both of Shelby, NC and Ernest Watson of Greensboro, NC; three aunts, Carolyn Camp of Charlotte, NC, Jeannie Jones of Richmond, VA and Patricia Houston of Atlanta, GA; devoted friend, Chenique Bolden; three godsisters, Ykeisha Surratt, Sherita Hunter and Linda Brown; two godbrothers, Matt Walker Walker, Jr. and Andre Rose; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to include a very special family, Monroe and Doris Mayo. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 3, 2020 at New Birth Fellowship Ministries, 5745 Orcutt Lane, Richmond, VA with Bishop Ralland V. Robinson, Sr., Pastor, officiating. The service will be live streamed. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 5, 2020 at the Golden Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 3426 Polkville Road, Shelby, NC where Roy will be laid to rest. Public viewing will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Wilson & Associates' Funeral Service - South Chapel, 1215 Jefferson Davis Highway, Richmond, VA from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. A face mask/covering will be required while attending all services and viewings.
