Mrs. Shirley Rochelle Peace-Taylor

Mrs. Shirley Rochelle Peace-Taylor, 82, of Petersburg, Virginia passed away on March 30, 2021 at her residence. Shirley was born February 20, 1939 in Brunswick County, Virginia to the late Annie Pair Peace and Roscoe Peace, Jr. Shirley attended Charlie Hope School in Brunswick, County, VA. She was a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA. She worked as a seamstress at Dixon Dress Company for thirteen years. She later went on to work for Home Health Care. She enjoyed crocheting and planting flowers. Along with her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Taylor; two daughters, Joyce Wright and Gladys Hewitt; son, Richard V. Taylor; granddaughter, Latasha A. Wright; grandson, Frankie L. Boisseau, Jr.; five brothers, Ruben Peace, Andrew Peace, William Peace, Norman Peace and Leroy Peace and three sisters, Dottie Smith, Tony Jones and Sallie Cook. She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories: five devoted children, Linda Peterson, Lloyd Taylor, Vivian West-Bey (Fred), Lesia Turner (Gilbert) and Rodney Taylor; eighteen grandchildren, Lisa Wood (Maurice), Tiffany Huskey, Michelle Taylor, William Peterson, Shawn Taylor (Kristi), Ricky Taylor (Cindy), Erica Beverly (Greg), Dominique Taylor (Teresa), Lakisha Taylor, Shari Taylor, Adrian Wright, Victoria Taylor, Darien Taylor, Julia Taylor, Joanna Nelson, Lafredda West-Bey, Aiden Taylor, and Renata Nelson; twenty-six great-grandchildren, Joyce-Ann, Jakayla, Azari, Ebony, Genee, Shakayla, Alan, Joseph, Kyng, Tayona, Yinka Jr., Moses, Toyin, Tamyah, Siahna, Solomon, Sye'Quan, Shamia, Laniyah, Mikaila, Major, Cherish, Justin, Vain, Kei'Myah, and Ava; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Peace; brother, Preston Peace; two sisters-in-law, Ola Green (Cleveland) and Yvonne Peace; brother-in-law, Phillip Taylor Jr.; son-in-law, Lester L. Wright Jr.; bonus grandchildren, Tameka Young and I'Qunta Williams; devoted friends, Lafayette and Arlene Collins; along with a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Tucker & Fisher Celebration of Life Chapel, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA . Rev. Jameson McLaughlin, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, Sussex County, VA and Assisatnt Pastor of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Minnis Memorial Park, 15151 Woods Edge Rd., S. Chesterfield, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. facial covering along with social distancing will be required while attending all services and viewings.
