Ms. Tia Chavelle Berry

Ms. Tia Chavelle Berry, 37, of Petersburg, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia while surrounded by family and close friends. Tia's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her, understand that the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time she was with us on Earth. Tia was born in Prince George's County, Maryland to Sharon Berry on May 3, 1984. She attended Petersburg City Public Schools, Petersburg, VA and graduated from Petersburg High School in 2002. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center until her health declined. She also worked in her younger years as a teacher at Burrow's Learning and Child Development Center and Tony Gaines Day Care. Tia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and often referred to as, "The Life of the Party!" From a very young age, Tia loved styling hair which birthed her love of make-up and cosmetology. She also loved fashion and was a truly "Diva" in her own right! She was the entrepreneur/owner of Plushly Yours Apparel. Tia spent a significant amount of time working with charities and was a special member of the Timeless Treasure Social Club. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Berry; grandmother, Lizzie Raspberry Mayfield; grandfather, Jessie Raspberry and uncle, Jessie Raspberry, Jr. Tia leaves to cherish many memories, a devoted mother, Sharon Berry; two sisters, JaVania Raspberry and April Berry; fiancé, Dionco Humphrey; aunts, Linda Raspberry, Brenda Cook (Dwayne), Sherry Wells (Danny) and Jessica Martin (Dezer); uncles, Greg Raspberry (Debra), Michael Raspberry (Rosa); a mother-in-law, Deborah Abraham; a host of cousins, relatives and deeply devoted friends, to include Kisha Brooks, April Roberts, Danielle Thurman, Khadijah Myrick and Marquis Williams; her goddaughters Kierra, Kianna and Kimyah Mason, Rylee Smith, and numerous other friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the VCU Massey Cancer Center for their care of Tia during her illness. A special thanks to all of Tia's family and friends for your support during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be held 1pm, Friday, October 8, 2021 at Zion Apostolic Christian Memorial Temple, 1601 Youngs Road, Petersburg, VA with the Pastor, Dr. Suzie Wright eulogizing and Dr. Samuel Wright, Jr. officiating. Tia will be laid to rest at Mt. Minnis Memorial Park, South Chesterfield, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M.
