Mr. William Jones, Jr.

Mr. William Jones, Jr. went from labor to reward on September 27, 2021. He was born March 2, 1952 to the late William Jones, Sr. and Ethel Mae Barnes Jones. As a child, William was baptized at First Baptist Church, Disputanta, Virginia. He later moved his membership to Third Baptist Church, Petersburg, Virginia. He was known as the dancing man at many churches. You would always see him dancing in the aisles, giving praise to his Lord and Savior. There was much evidence in his faith in Jesus. He knew Him as his Deliverer in the pardoning of his sins. His sister and nieces, Juniesha & Karesha enjoyed the last 3-way conversation which was full of laughter a few days before his passing. He loved his family and his girl, Angela. He will be truly missed by all that knew him and was truly the life of the party. He will forever be in our hearts. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his devoted brother, John T. Jones; brother-in-law, Jeffrey J. King; nephew, Roy L. Jones, Jr.; aunts, Bernice Clark, Aretha Patterson, Matha Garrison, Maxine B. Williams, Lucy Jones, Maleatha Evans, Delia Goodwyn, Annie Fields and Iola Jones; uncles, Joe Bond, Willie Barnes, Earnest Barnes, Clinton Jones and Edward Jones; cousins, Evette and Howard Goodwyn, Henry Jones, Nathaniel, Waverly and James Fields, Belinda Miller and Ann Chavis; dear friend, Carolyn Coleman and like a daughter, Denise Croft He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted twin sister, Lorraine J. King; devoted brother, Roy L. Jones, Sr.; son, Stacey Tyrone Croft; aunt, Nannie Adkins; four nieces, among them one devoted, Rev. Karesha Jones-Williams, Christina Raines, Lisa Browder and Domique Andrews; two nephews, Jeremy Raines and Kevin Jones; great nieces all devoted, Lakeii Jackson (Herley), PaQwii (Sean) and Juniesha Williams; great-great niece, Siyah Winfield; great nephews, Samorion, TreJohn, Zatoine, Jamison Jones, Cadarian Raines, Cedrick Pritchett, Jatoine, Herley, Sean Jr., QwiSean and Marqwion; a devoted friend whom he loved dearly, Angela Massey; along with a host of other relatives and friends. . Special thank you Rev. Dr. Edward Fox and the Springfield Baptist Church, Sutherland, VA for showing love and support to William and also his Third Baptist Church Family. A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Tucker & Fisher Celebration of Life Chapel, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA. Rev. Joe Ford officiating and Rev. Karesha Williams-Jones will eulogize. Interment will follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery, 611 S. Crater Rd., Petersburg, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
