Mr. Charles Emmanuel Henry, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles Emanuel Henry, Jr., 48 of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, peacefully gained his heavenly wings on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Bon Secours - Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Charles Emanuel Henry, Sr. & Shirley Ann (Jiles) Henry. Charles was known as CJ or Charles Jr., he was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle and Papa. Family values were taught a great deal throughout the years and he expressed the importance of family time by having what his wife would call, "family meetings." Charles attended the local elementary and middle schools of Duval County in Jacksonville, Florida, and was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, Jacksonville, Florida, Class of 1992. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Navy for four years and received many awards during his tenure, including the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal and Secretary of the Navy Commendation. He was very talented in many areas and had so much to teach and learn. He was receiving his degree from John Tyler Community College in Chester, Virginia in Computer Science and Technology. Charles really loved riding his bike which he had affectionately called Cleopatra. He was a member of the Deep Rooted Bikers Club and had accomplished Tail of the dragon. He enjoyed going to motorcycle events and taking rides through the mountains. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Sam and Louise Jiles and his father Charles E. Henry, Sr., his mother; Shirley Ann Henry, his sister; Dionne Michelle Bradley a multiple other caring and wonderful relatives. He leaves to cherish his beautiful wife of 27 years, Tricia Ann Henry; four beautiful daughters, Coralin Allen (Gerald), Alexandria Henry, Kyla Henry, and Kierra Henry; two granddaughters, Ro'Ziya & Violet; brother, Leonard "Warren" Douglass (Nicole); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and mourning friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Temple Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, 110 N. Dunlop St., Petersburg, VA, District Elder Wesley Taylor, Jr., Pastor, officiant and Minister Rondoll Huggins, eulogist. Interment will be held at the Virginia Veteran's Cemetery at Amelia, Amelia, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Friday, July 15, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
