Mrs. Janice Maynette Pulliam-Vaughan, 57, of Petersburg, Virginia, entered a peaceful rest on Friday, February 04, 2022, at Riverview on the Appomattox Health and Rehab Center, Hopewell, Virginia. Janice was born May 5, 1964 to the late James "Cane" and Barbara Pulliam. She was a graduate of the Sussex County Public School System and Flair's Beauty Institute. She also previously worked at Central State Hospital and as a Crossing Guard for the City of Petersburg Public School System. Janice was a devoted, dedicated and skillful beautician. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy Pulliam and Antonio Pulliam, Sr.; one sister, Gloria White; nephew, Troy Pulliam and a host of aunts and uncles. She leaves to cherish precious memories her husband, Andre Vaughn; two sons, Demontray Pulliam and Bobby Pulliam, daughter, LaJoyous Boose; stepdaughter, Chamiska Fitzerald; grandchildren, De'Asia, Aleeyah, and Kali Pulliam; mother-in-law, Christine Elder; a devoted niece, Sierra Pulliam; three sisters, Sandra Mason-Johnson, Terry Wiggins, and Tracy Jones (Carlos); five brothers, William Massenburg, Warnell Massenburg, James Pulliam, Sr., Ricky Pulliam (Paulette), and Raymond Pulliam; two brothers-in-law, Antwan Yates and Wavely Vaughan; two uncles, Joseph Massenburg and Jimmy Reed; two aunts, Elizabeth Pulliam and devoted Sharon Booker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, devoted friends, Chelsea Brown and April Brown, along with many other friends and clients that were family. Janice will always be remembered for her role as a motherly figure in her community, her love for styling hair, playing bingo and bringing love and laughter to everyone with her festive gatherings. The family would like to thank Riverview on the Appomattox Health and Rehab Center, Tucker & Fisher Funeral Home and other family and friends for their support during this time. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Faith and Hope Temple Church of God in Christ, 1800 E Washington St., Petersburg, VA, with Rev. Dr. Antonio A. Tucker, Sr., officiating. Public Viewing will be held 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Chapel of Tucker & Fisher Funeral Home, Petersburg, VA. The service will be live streamed.
