March 4, 1968 - February 16, 2022

Ms. Mandy Rosita Briggs, 53, was born March 4, 1968 in Stony Creek, Virginia to the late Mary E. Briggs and Sidney Massenburg. In His infinite wisdom, God summoned our loved one into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mandy attended Sussex County Public Schools, Sussex, Virginia she received her High School diploma from Sussex Central High School, Sussex, Virginia. She later went on to attend Bryant & Stratton College, Richmond, VA where she earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice Studies. She worked for Verizon until they downsized. She was currently employed at the Richmond City Sheriff's Office, Richmond, VA as a Clerk. Mandy was a member of Hunting Quarter Baptist Church, Stony Creek, VA. She was a Sunday School and Choir Member. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary E. Briggs; father, Sidney Massenburg; two brothers, Lorenzo and Ivory Briggs; sister, Petulia Davis and one sister-in-law, Barbara Briggs. Mandy leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Tahquisha Wooden, Toledo, Ohio; a devoted friend, Aubrey Brown, Richmond, VA, six grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Bailey, Stony Creek, VA and Mary G. King, Petersburg, VA; four brothers, Ardie Briggs, Stony Creek, VA, Charles (Sheila) Briggs, Prince George, VA, James (Maureen) Briggs, Macon, GA and Tony (Shirley) Briggs, Loganville, GA; one sister-in-law, Linda Briggs, three aunts, Rev. Ethel Poarch, Stony Creek, VA, Barbara Elder and Gladys (Tom) Chambliss, Stony Creek, VA; two uncles, Earl Jackson, Petersburg, VA and Clarence Jackson, Stony Creek, VA; very devoted friends, Jackie & Wayne Woods, Richmond, VA, along with a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Tucker & Fisher Celebration of Life Chapel, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA with Rev. Dr. Antonio A. Tucker, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Briggs Field Cemetery, Stony Creek, VA. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Monday, February 21, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided to the family by the professional staff of Tucker & Fisher Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 Halifax St. Petersburg, VA (804)324-5529.
