Queen Esther Barton (better known as Queenie) sunrise September 14th, 1933, and sunset November 5th, 2021. She passed at the age of 88. Queenie was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She passed away quietly in her sleep surrounded by her loved ones. She relocated from North Carolina to New Jersey via Washington, DC; and then finally settled in Virginia. She worked in the healthcare industry for most of her career. She is survived by her children: Venzell Exum, Kimberly Exum, Terrence Exum, Loretta Exum Wheatley, Cheryl Exum, Michael Barton, Keisha Barton, and Kevin Barton. She also had grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and lots of nieces and nephews. Proceeding her in death are her husband Wilburn Barton, and children Carolista Blake, Robert Exum, Cali Hasan, and grandson Marcus Exum. In her spare time, she loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.
