Ms. Sarah Ann Clark, 54, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Bon Secours - Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. Sarah was born on July 8, 1967 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, but later moved to Chesterfield County, Virginia where she was raised and reared at the Children's Home of Virginia Baptist. Sarah was baptized at an early age at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA. She attended Shiloh Baptist Church while at the Children's Home, where she was an usher and sang in the choir. Sarah was a 1987 graduate of Matoaca High School in Chesterfield, Virginia. She was a member of the Matoaca High School Basketball Team and is still remembered as one of the best shooters in the school's history. While living in Ettrick, Sarah gained many friends whom she considered family and loved dearly. Sarah had a love for music, which allowed her the opportunity to be one of the local DJs around the Tri-Cities area. At any given time, Sarah would pack up her music and head down the road to DJ for her family and friends in her hometown. Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Clark; her mother, Sarah Lee Clark and her brother, Charles Clark. Sarah leaves to cherish her memory her grandmother, Jeanette Lyons; four sisters, Martha Menjibar of South Hill, Cherie Crawley and Bessie Clark both of Union Level, and Carolyn Tucker (Larry) of Chase City; one brother, Bobby Winckler of Richmond; two devoted nephews whom she raised, Ricky and Jermaine Clark; two godchildren, Aniya Harris and Antonio Crawford; two foster mothers, Gail Y. Ledbetter and Gladys Walker; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Sarah also leaves to cherish her memory her Ettrick family, card buddies and many others. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, 2671 Rocky Mount Rd., Skipwith, VA with Rev. Dr. Antonio A. Tucker, Sr. officiating. Public viewing will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. The Matoaca High School Class of 1987 will assemble Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Final Care and Compassionate Services are being provided by the professional staff of Tucker & Fisher Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA.
