Ms. Sarah M. Crawley

February 22, 1952 - January 20, 2021

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, our hearts were saddened by the passing of our beloved, Sarah M. Crawley of West Petersburg, VA. Sarah was a smiling angel that walked this earth for 68 years until she was called home to be reunited with the Lord at River View on the Appomattox Health and Rehab Center, Hopewell, VA. She was born February 22, 1952 to the late Edward Williams and Vivian Cobb Crawley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward William Crawley, Jr. Sarah was a member of Third Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA, where she was baptized and attended regularly.  She was a dedicated employee at Seward and Luggage Company for a number of years until she started her career at Colonial Heights Convalescent Center, Colonial Heights, VA.  She remained with the company for over 30 years until her health started declining.   When Sarah wasn't working, she loved spending time with her family and cooking for whoever showed up at her home. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two sons, Jerome A. Crawley and Donald E. Crawley both of West Petersburg, VA; foster daughter, Denise A. Yates of Prince George, VA; two grandsons, Quinton Hayes of Hopewell, VA and Isaiah Thompson of Petersburg, VA; great-grandson, Ze'Quan Miles of Hopewell, VA; sister, Jean Crawley Yates of Prince George, VA; brother, Andrew L. Crawley of Petersburg, VA; aunt, Susie Crawley of Dinwiddie, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, among them a special niece, Colleen S. Yates of Prince George, VA. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 5, 2021 at Tucker & Fisher Celebration of Life Chapel, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA with Rev. Dr. Antonio A. Tucker, Sr., officiating. The service will be live streamed. A facial covering along with social distancing will be required if attending services.
