Ms. Tashema T. Jeter

Ms. Tashema Teon Jeter, was born on March 22, 1985 in Newport News, VA to Mrs. Shanta Jeter Kerns and Mr. Lonnie Echoles. She attended school in Newport News, VA and later went to graduate from New Brunswick, New Jersey. Tashema was quietly called home on February 28, 2010 and lived to attain the age of 24. Tashema is preceded in death by her great- grandmother Mrs. Willie Kate Jeter, great-grandfather Mr. Edward Jeter, and great-grandmother Mrs. Alma Echols. She is also preceded in death by her Aunt Earline Dixon, Walter Prim, Melvin Dixon, and Maurice “Pee Wee” Sharp. Tashema leaves to cherish her memories, her three beautiful daughters; Kyasiah Jeter (father, Javon Berry), Tah’Joy and Mickayla Underwood (father, Michael Underwood), her mother; Shanta Jeter Kerns, stepfather; Raymond Kerns, all of Newport News, her father; Lonnie Echols (Beral Echols), five sisters; Shannon Jeter of Brunswick New Jersey, Ranneika Jeter, Shakera Jeter, Lonisha Echols, all of Newport News, and Ray** Unna Kerns of Georgia, two brothers; Randy and Randolph Jeter of Newport News, her great grandmother Mariette Kerns, grandmothers; Leola Jeter, and Margretta Douglas, and also Yvette Jones. Five aunts; Tanya and Lashonda Jeter of New Brunswick, NJ, LaTanya, and Yolanda Kerns, and Shashony Douglas, all of Newport News, VA. She leaves two uncles; Louis Jeter, of Huntington West, VA, Mark Kerns of Fort Poke, VA, and one great uncle, Edward Jeter III. She also leaves five precious nieces; Cyonna Jeter, of New Brunswick, NJ, Azahria, and Zionyonna Jeter, Kasiah Underwood, and Ja’laya Barnes, all of Newport News, VA. Tashema will be missed as well by her three nephews; Samaad Hicks, of New Brunswick, NJ, Nathavion Johnson and Naiquze Jeter. Her best friends; Onika, Kia and Kym of Newport News, VA, Keema Johnson of New Brunswick, NJ, special friends; Quinton “Q” Jefferson of Newport News, VA, Kenny “ Snuff” Hicks of New Brunswick, NJ and a host of relatives and friends that will continue to cherish her beautiful memories. Viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the chapel of the M.E. Fisher funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Restoration & Faith Ministries, 2114 Wickham Avenue Newport News, VA 23607. Interment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery.
