Mr. William Leroy Edwards, Jr. (Jr. Flip), born September 7, 1966, passed away on March 17, 2021. He was the son of the late William L. Edwards, Sr. and Essie Mae Edwards. He was outspoken but loved by everyone. He cared for his community and helped anyone that was in need. He had a kind heart and a smile like sunshine. He cared deeply for his family and always had a funny story to tell. William always demanded attention when he walked in a room. He knew how to put a smile on your face. He loved to dance and was the life of the party. He was our sunshine. He was a construction worker for many years at Heard Concrete of Chesapeake, VA and he was a security Officer at Speedy Mart in Newport News, VA. He was proceeded in death by his father, William Leroy Edwards, Sr; and grandparents, Mary Edwards and Nellie Tann. He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Essie Mae Edwards of Colerain, NC; wife and life partner, Connie Brown of Newport News, VA; daughter, Taneisha Brown of Greenville, NC; 2 sons, William (Lisa) Brown and Paris (Nautica) Carter both of Newport News, VA; 2 sisters, Wilma Moore of Newport News, VA and Kimberly Walton of Suffolk, VA; 1 brother, Kevin Walton of Staten Island, NY. William also leaves 8 grandchildren, 6 aunts, 4 uncles, 10 nieces, 5 nephews, and a host of cousins other relatives, and friends.
