Mrs. Zatella Renee Taylor, age 71, of Disputanta, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 in Bon Secours - Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. Zatella was born on February 1, 1950 to the late Horace T. Hunt Sr. and Wilma Hunt in Disputanta, Virginia. She was one of ten children. Zatella was raised in Disputanta, Virginia and she was educated in the Prince George County Public School System, Prince George, VA. Zatella was married to Theophilus Taylor, of Disputanta, Virginia. She raised three loving & devoted sons and one loving & devoted daughter. Zatella began her employment career with the Prince George County School System, Prince George, VA. She worked extremely hard at L.L. Beasley Elementary School as a Food Service Worker and earned the title "Assistant Manager". She retired after a wonderful career that culminated after 30 years of service. Zatella enjoyed lawn and gardening, writing poems and cooking. More importantly she enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and those in need. Zatella was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Disputanta, Virginia. She remained active until her health declined. She was loved dearly by all who knew her. Zatella was a women of faith and a God fearing woman. She could always be found visiting family and friends in time of need. She was at times called the Prayer Warrior. Regardless of her own health issues, she put others before herself. She visited many nursing homes and residential homes to try and lift the spirits of family and friends in need of care. At times she would meet complete strangers and then forged a relationship where they too received her prayer. Zatella was a compassionate and loving person who touched the lives of many. She was faithful and praising the Lord and was thankful for everyone in her life. On the night of January 28, 2022, the Lord received his Prayer Warrior. No more suffering, no more pain. In addition to her parents, Zatella was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond Hunt, Edward Hunt, Sherman Hunt and Horace T. Hunt Jr.; two sisters, Sabryna Shamberger and Valgeanette Reese and many more family members. She leaves to cherish her memories a husband of 47 years, Theophilus Taylor; four devoted children, Tyrus Taylor, Sr., Theophilus Taylor, Jr., Dexter Taylor (Lamika) and Monica Taylor (A.J); three step-children, Michael Taylor (devoted), Mechell Taylor (devoted) and Rosalind Stith; three brothers, Larry Hunt (Addie), Ronald Hunt and Frank Jackson (Belinda); one sister, Linda Hunt; one sister-in-law, Susie Sykes; five brothers-in-law, Clarence Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Richard Taylor, Anthony Shamberger, Sr. and William E. Reese, III (devoted); eight devoted grandchildren, Latavia Taylor, Tyrus Taylor, Jr.(Baylie), Jairus Taylor, Darius Taylor, Jaylen Taylor, Jadeon Taylor, Braylen Taylor and Tashay Reaves; two great-grandchildren, Tyrece Reaves and Tylah Reaves; a host of nieces and nephews, among them devoted, Rasheika Shamberger, Kimberly Reese, Lola Hobbs, Essence Jones and Raymond Hunt, Jr.; along with many loving cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 10209 County Dr., Disputanta, VA, Rev. Dr. J. Alfred Reid, Pastor. Pastor Michael Wyche, Crystal Cathedral Ministries, Prince George, VA, eulogist. Interment will follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be live streamed. Public viewing will be Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. A face mask will be required while attending all services and viewings.
